Mumbai, Apr 28: The upcoming film ‘Mercy’, starring Niharica Raizada and Adil Hussain, is scheduled to be screened at the UK Asian Film Festival in London.

Marking the directorial debut of Mitul Patel, the film delves into the delicate moments of saying goodbye to a loved one and will be showcased on May 5, 2025, at the Rich Mix Theatre.

The cast includes Niharica Raizada portraying Shekhar’s wife Jiya, Aparna Ghoshal as the ailing matriarch Sujata, Kunal Bhan as the emotionally conflicted brother Vihaan, and Adil Hussain, who lends depth and warmth to the character of Father Joel, the family’s spiritual anchor during their most challenging times.

Raj Vasudeva, who plays the protagonist Shekhar in the film, shared in a statement, “‘Mercy’ is a reflection on the quiet, often unspoken emotions that surround loss. It explores the strength it takes to make peace with the inevitable, and the love that continues even in the act of letting go”.

Adil Hussain commented, “For me, Mercy is about that silent space where grief, love, and responsibility collide. It’s about those moments where you’re forced to make a decision not with your head, but with a heart that’s breaking”.

The film's trailer was exclusively revealed at the Indian Pavilion during the Cannes Film Festival the previous year, providing an early glimpse into its moving narrative and garnering a positive reception.

Produced by Raj Vasudeva and Anuradha Sachdev under the Everclear Films banner, ‘Mercy’ follows their internationally acclaimed short film ‘Forbidden’, which bravely addressed honor killings and was screened at over 30 festivals worldwide.

‘Mercy’ marks Everclear Films' feature film debut, staying true to their vision of crafting courageous, emotionally resonant stories that encourage reflection and empathy.
