Mumbai, May 8: Actor Hrishikesh Pandey, best known for his iconic role as Inspector Sachin in the popular TV series CID, recently opened up about his journey in the entertainment industry. Reflecting on his early years, Hrishikesh admitted that he felt he couldn’t always do justice to some of his initial roles, acknowledging the growth he has experienced as an actor over time.
“I’ve always believed in taking on any role that is important, intense, and well-written, no matter the platform. When I first started, I played different kinds of roles. At that time, I felt I couldn't do full justice to some of those characters the way I could now,” Hrishikesh shared in a candid conversation.
The actor expressed his desire to continue exploring various roles in the future, stating that there isn't a specific ‘dream role’ that he aspires to play. He emphasized the importance of constantly evolving as an artist. “Whatever comes my way, I’d love to explore it. The industry is vast, and I’m open to taking on new challenges. I won’t say there’s one ultimate role, but I want to keep acting and delivering good work,” he added.
Hrishikesh, who has had the privilege of working with Bollywood legends, mentioned that he doesn’t specifically seek to work with any particular actor or director. Instead, he believes that the key to growth in the industry lies in continuous self-improvement and embracing new opportunities. “I’ve had the honour of working with people like Amitabh Bachchan, and that was a dream come true for me. I’ve also had the chance to meet Lata Ji and developed a beautiful bond with her. I’ve achieved what I set out to do in life—meeting people I’ve admired. Now, I don’t have any specific aspirations in that direction, but I would love to work with anyone and everyone who is passionate and good at what they do.”
On the subject of fame and fortune, Hrishikesh shared a grounded perspective, reflecting on how many in the industry often get carried away by success. “Fame and success are transient. They come and go. At the end of the day, it’s about who you are as a person. I’ve seen people get swept away by fame, but I believe it’s important to stay grounded and realize early on that your true value is not defined by these things,” he remarked.
Hrishikesh further emphasized the importance of kindness and integrity in life. “Even if there’s no money or fame tomorrow, the people who truly know you will still stand by you. My goal has always been to not hurt anyone—whether intentionally or unintentionally. My simple principle is: do good if you can, and if you can’t do good, at least don’t do harm,” he concluded.
With a career spanning over two decades, Hrishikesh Pandey has made a mark in the entertainment industry with his roles in shows like Sanjivani, Raat Hone Ko Hai, Piya Ka Ghar, and CID. He continues to captivate audiences with his portrayal of Inspector Sachin in the second season of CID.
