Srinagar, May 10: Television star Hina Khan, who hails from Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, has come under fire on social media after expressing her support for the Indian Army and Operation Sindoor amid the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions.

The actress, like many other celebrities, extended solidarity with the armed forces following India's retaliatory strike on terror camps in Pakistan and PoJK. However, her post drew sharp criticism from some quarters, prompting her to share a heartfelt note addressing the backlash.

"All my life I only saw affection from across the border," Hina wrote. "After supporting my country before and after Operation Sindoor, many of you abused me, cursed me, and unfollowed me... not just me, but also targeted my medical condition, my family, and my faith."

Responding firmly to the hate, she stated, "I am not anything if I am not an Indian. I will always be an Indian, first. So go ahead, unfollow me. I don't care... What you say defines you. What you choose defines your ideology."

Operation Sindoor was launched by India after the brutal April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists in the Baisaran Valley. The mission targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK in a midnight strike on May 7.

Despite the online trolling, Hina stood by her patriotic stance, concluding her post with a resolute "Jai Hind."
