Mumbai, May 15: Bollywood actress Jacqueliene Fernandez is making waves on the international stage as she represents India at the prestigious Red Sea Film Festival, held in collaboration with the 78th Cannes Film Festival. Fernandez has been named one of the honourees at the festival’s Women in Cinema initiative, which celebrates the contributions of female storytellers across the globe.

Taking to Instagram, Jacqueliene shared a series of glamorous photos from her first day at Cannes, where she dazzled in a white and silver ensemble. Her post offered fans a behind-the-scenes look at her experience, from makeup sessions to interviews and candid moments with fellow honourees.

The Red Sea International Film Festival, through its Women in Cinema Gala, highlights the achievements of female filmmakers, actors, and creatives who have made impactful contributions to the global entertainment industry. This year’s list of seven distinguished honourees includes:

• Jacqueliene Fernandez (India/Sri Lanka)
• Rungano Nyoni (Zambian-Welsh writer-director)
• Amina Khalil (Egyptian actress)
• Elham Ali (Saudi actress)
• Engfa Waraha (Thai actress)
• Gaya Jiji (Syrian filmmaker)
• Sarah Taiba (Saudi filmmaker and artist)

As she graces the Cannes red carpet alongside international filmmakers and cultural icons, Fernandez continues to elevate Indian cinema on a global platform.

Meanwhile, on the professional front, Jacqueliene is gearing up for the release of Housefull 5, the latest installment in the popular comedy franchise. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film is slated for release on June 6.

The Housefull series began in 2010 and has since become one of Bollywood’s most successful comedy franchises, with its previous installments released in 2012, 2016, and 2019.
