Jammu, Jun 8: A month after the intense cross-border shelling during Operation Sindoor, the morale of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel remains sky-high, with injured jawans returning to duty, determined to give Pakistan a “painful reply” in case of any further provocation.
Speaking to reporters on Saturday, BSF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Prabhakar Joshi confirmed that the jawans injured during the May 7–10 operation have been discharged from hospital and are back on the frontlines. “Their morale is extremely high. They are twice as determined now and fully prepared to counter any future misadventure by Pakistan,” he said.

DIG Joshi praised the jawans’ bravery during Operation Sindoor, where BSF forces responded fiercely to heavy shelling from across the border. “Our reply was so strong, Pakistan’s future generations will remember it. India speaks less, strikes hard,” he remarked.
He stressed that all BSF posts remain intact and under firm control, even those located beyond the fencing. “The BSF is patrolling vigilantly. As long as we stand guard, the nation has nothing to worry about,” he assured.
Among the injured soldiers now back on duty is sub-inspector Vyas Dev, who lost a leg during a bomb shell attack but remains undeterred. “Even today, I am ready to return to the border and give a befitting reply. It’s an honour to have served in Operation Sindoor,” he said.
Constable Bhupendra Vajpayee of Raebareli, who suffered injuries from a drone attack during heavy shelling on May 9, has also returned to active duty. “Despite my injuries, I am back. This time, we will not only stop them but hoist the Tricolour on their soil,” he said with resolve.
Reiterating India's preparedness, DIG Joshi added, “If Pakistan dares to repeat its actions, they will get a reply so fierce that it will be etched in their memory forever.”
The senior officer's remarks come amid growing tensions along the border, as India maintains a strong security posture and sends a clear message — the BSF is alert, ready, and resolute.
