Mumbai, Jun 23: Diya D Singh, a final-year student of the B.Sc. (IT) programme at St John College of Humanities and Sciences (Autonomous), Palghar, has made her institution and district proud by securing the top rank in Mumbai University with an exceptional CGPA of 9.98.
This remarkable feat is a milestone not just for Diya but also for the rapidly emerging academic landscape of Palghar. Her success adds another feather to the cap of St John Technical and Educational Campus, home to three of Palghar’s best autonomous institutes.
“This accomplishment highlights the academic culture and commitment to excellence that our institution strives for. We are proud to see our students reaching such milestones and setting examples for others to follow,” said the principal of St John College of Humanities and Sciences (Autonomous) Dr Mukta Jacob.

Speaking about her achievement, Diya said, “I’m truly grateful to my college and faculty who supported me throughout. I’ve received a few job offers and also appeared for the MCA CET. I want to keep learning while gaining real-world IT experience.”
Diya now joins the league of Mumbai University toppers from the St John Technical and Educational Campus, including Bageshree Kapdnis (CGPA 9.95) and Urvashi Mhato (CGPA 9.88), both of whom brought laurels to the institute in previous years.
Chairman of Aldel Education Trust which runs the college, Albert W DSouza, while congratulating Diya said that they were so proud of her.
