Singer Deepali Joshi Killed in Road Accident in Kuwait

New Delhi, Jan 28 (TOI) : Renowned Indian singer Deepali Joshi was killed in a tragic road accident in Kuwait on Friday night. Deepali Joshi was in Kuwait to perform for a show to be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012.

The event in Kuwait was organized by Al Mulla Exchange Company to commemorate India's 63rd Republic Day celebration.

Deepali was on her way to the hotel from the Kuwait International Airport and the car she was travelling met with an accident near 6th ring road. Her companion and the driver of the car were seriously injured and are admitted to Farwaniya Hospital.

Deepali hails from a small town of Dharwad, near border of Maharashtra. She speaks Kannada and Marathi fluently. She is survived by her husband, Paresh Shah, sister and brother.

The shows, which was planned to be held at the Indian Embassy auditorium has been cancelled as a mark of respect.

    It is Indeed very sad that Singer Deepali Joshi Killed in Road Accident. Life is very short and everyone has to live with a purpose and without it life is incomplete, Deepali lived with a purpose a renowed singer, she might have had bigger dreams, but nothing is possible without Gods Will. May her Soul rest in peace and may the almightly grant her family the strength to overcome her Sad demise.

    Santosh Paul, "accident is accident.. it is not intentional" does not apply to Kuwait most of the times. Crazy men without consciences and demons driving their brains, come out on the expressways of Kuwait and these killing machines not only kill themselves they take innocent lives with them. Sadly dozens die every week ... not just because of speed but because for these reckless drivers lives of others have no value.

    It was a shocking news for all us in Kuwait. She joined the weekly fatality list of Kuwait which happen during weekends especially. Weekly atleat 5-10 people die due to accidents. The sixth ring road is famous for zig zaging vehicles racing at a speed of 120 kmph and above. It is sad that Govt. cannot educate it's own citizens about road safety.

    For expatriates driving in Kuwait, it is always a nightmare, however experienced one may be, one can never be sure whether he or she may return home. Road rage is very common in Kuwait and leaves visitors and new comers in awe. The way people drive in Kuwait has been a talk for a long time. There are so many deaths which occur every weekend, believe it or not a few though survive, but disability would be sure.

    The way Citizens and expatriates criss cross in the lanes at speeds touching 120 kmph, can give a new comer shivers, but alas they gradually would adapt to the same way a few years down the lane.

    It is indeed sad for the singer Deepali to perish in this manner. The local newspapers and other media have only reported the death, but have presented no causes. It is not to blame someone, the wrong committed has to be brought to justice.

    There is a case of a little boy called Jared, who died due to the negligence of a local(Justice for Jared on Facebook). Its years now and the matter is still pending. Such is the condition in Kuwait.

    sad news. i have a point to make.here no one has complained about cause of accident.. but i have been reading, when there is a news article about the accident in india, people immidiately blame buses, road system or one or the other political issues connected to it and argue. my point is wherever it may occur, accident is accident.. it is not intentional .. there for it is called accident.. so we have to accept that it is tragic and we should not blame one another for that..

    Sorry to hear the untimely death of famous singer Deepaly Joshi in a tragic road in Kuwait. MAY HER SOUL REST IN ETERNAL PEACE and give comfort to the bereaved family and host of friends. It is a shocking news and even you have gone away from us but you are still in our hearts. This news is unbelievable and shocking. But what can we do, it was destined that she had to die even before she could perform her show in Kuwait to entertain her audience who were eagerly waiting.

    I got a invitation for the show last week. But today morning I got call from Al Mulla about the tragic accident n the show has been cancelled. The place of accident was just a KM from my house at Farwaniya. Next to airport. May God give peace to her soul, she came to Kuwait for a noble cause, to sing Patriotic songs during 63rd Republic day celebration, she gave her life for our country. Deepali Joshi hailed from Karmataka, Darward district. She has performed around the world, including USA Canada, Hongkong, Indonesia, Angola, Qatar n UAE. She has won the mega finalsof "Awaaz Ki Duniya" awarded by Khayyam Sahab.
