Mumbai, Jul 11: Jurassic World: Rebirth, the latest installment in the iconic dinosaur saga, has closed its first week at the Indian box office on a high note, collecting an impressive Rs 53 crore (net) across seven days. The Hollywood blockbuster, starring Scarlett Johansson and directed by Rogue One fame Gareth Edwards, has emerged as one of the year’s top international releases in India.
After a spectacular opening weekend that brought in Rs 38.2 crore net, the film witnessed the usual weekday slowdown. Monday saw earnings of Rs 4.2 crore, followed by Rs 4.5 crore on Tuesday. Collections dipped to Rs 3.17 crore on Wednesday, with a marginal decline on Thursday, taking the final first-week total past Rs 53 crore.

On the gross front, the film's collection stood at an estimated Rs 60 crore, placing it alongside major Hollywood hits like Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (Rs 67.51 crore gross) and F1 starring Brad Pitt (Rs 58.33 crore gross). All three films have crossed the coveted Rs 50 crore gross mark in India this summer, signaling strong audience interest in international content.
Globally, Jurassic World: Rebirth is also dominating the box office. The film raked in a massive $147.3 million in North America within just five days, including a $91.5 million boost from the opening weekend alone. International territories added another $171 million, with China contributing $41.5 million — the highest MPA (Motion Picture Association) opening in the country this year.
The ensemble cast of the film also includes Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Ed Skrein, and Luna Blaise. With a new storyline and stunning visuals, the film continues the beloved Jurassic legacy while introducing bold new cinematic directions.
However, as July heats up with several big-ticket releases, including Superman, Fantastic Four, and The Smurfs, the box office battle intensifies. Bollywood offerings and Hollywood superheroes landing this week may pose stiff competition to Jurassic World: Rebirth in the coming days.
