Kundapur, Jul 12: Mother Teresa’s PU College witnessed an enlightening session on ‘The wisdom of health and biodiversity’ facilitated by the renowned ayurvedic physician and researcher, Dr Vaidya T Shridhar Bairy. The workshop, held for the PUC students, served as a striking reminder of the age-old connection between nature and human well-being.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, Dr Bairy emphasized the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle rooted in natural practices. He elaborated on how biodiversity plays a significant role in maintaining human health, offering us essential resources like fruits, vegetables, medicinal plants and helping in disease regulation.

Encouraging students to reconnect with their roots, he urged everyone to consume locally available, seasonal fruits and vegetables and evade dependence on processed and junk food. Moreover, he asked the students to explore the medicinal plants, native plants and extinct plant-species in their vicinity. “Being friendly with mother nature and protecting our surroundings is not just a responsibility but a necessity for our survival,” he remarked.
The session was attended by the managing trustee, principal, the teaching fraternity of PUC Section and the students of Ayurdhama Club, who lauded his initiative and practice for raising awareness among students about sustainable living. "Swasthasya Swasthya Rakshanam, Aturasya Vikara Prashamanam", he added, highlighting the need to preserve nature’s stability for our long-term well-being.
