Mangaluru: Yenepoya organizes workshop on climate change & gender

Mangaluru, Jul 14: A workshop on climate change and gender, supported by NIH (Grant no. 1R25TW010305), NCE was organised by the Centre for Ethics, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), on the June 2 and 3. The resource persons for the workshop were an international faculty, Dr Zanele Furusa, lecturer and environmental advocate from California State University, USA, and Dr Vina Vaswani, director, Centre for Ethics.

The sessions were quite interactive and useful for the participants and covered topics on gender disparity issues regarding climate change, theories of climate change, food security and climate change impacts in tribal population.

The programme was successfully conducted in hybrid mode. Since it was in hybrid mode, 16 participants from the University and from its international collaborating institutions, comprising various disciplines benefited from this workshop.

The participants expressed their thoughts and all appreciated the sessions. Dr Aswini Dutt R (dean of Academic, Yenepoya University), graced the valedictory function. The programme wrapped up with a vote of thanks and distribution of appreciation certificate to the resource person and delegates, ending with a group photograph.
