Bantwal: Hollow block company accused of illegal operation on govt land

Bantwal, Jul 24: A hollow block manufacturing company allegedly operating illegally on government land in Salethoor Agari of Kolnadu village came under the scanner as revenue, MESCOM, and gram panchayat officials conducted a surprise raid on Wednesday.

Acting on the directions of the assistant commissioner of Mangaluru, a joint team of officials from the revenue and panchayat departments launched the raid.

According to reports, for the past eight years, a person named Karayi Abdul Kareem has been operating a hollow block company by constructing a shed illegally on survey number 512/6, a piece of government land in Salethoor Agari, Bantwal taluk. Despite lacking any legal ownership documents, temporary electricity connection had reportedly been granted by MESCOM officials.

The raid was conducted based on a complaint filed by Karayi Khalid, which led the officials to inspect the premises.

The operation was carried out by Vittal hobli revenue Inspector Ravi M N, Kolnadu village administrative officer Kari Basappa, PDO Lavanya, and their team, who inspected and assessed the site.
