Los Angeles, Jul 27: Hollywood icon Pamela Anderson revealed that her role in the upcoming comedy The Naked Gun allowed her to reconnect with a lifelong passion — jazz music.
The 58-year-old actress, who stars as Beth Davenport opposite Liam Neeson, described how a jazz club scene in the film felt tailor-made for her. “I was the scat soloist in eighth grade. I love jazz. I play the saxophone, and I’ve scatted a few times,” she told People magazine. “When I read that scene in the script, I thought, ‘This is fate.’ Who else could do this?”
The scene, which features Anderson performing with a jazz band, wasn’t just a throwaway moment. “I love to scat,” she said. “It was scripted, but I still can’t get it out of my head. I remember the entire thing.”
Reflecting on her experience, Anderson admitted that she thrives when challenged. “You have to have courage to be an actor at all,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “But that’s my happy place — when I’m terrified. I actually enjoy singing. I love being on stage.”
She sees acting as a deeply expressive art form, not far from her love of writing poetry and journaling. “Performing in a movie is another way to express yourself. Everything is loaded with emotion,” she said, adding that she drew from her own life to shape her performance in The Naked Gun.
The film marks a return to the screen for Anderson, who continues to explore new sides of her artistic self while embracing the unpredictability of the roles she takes on.
