Udupi: Vishwakarma Okkuta ® to Host ‘Sammelan–2012’ on Feb 5

Udupi, Feb 1: Vishwakarma Okkuta ®, a governing body of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi district Vishwakarma Sangh, will organize a mega ‘Vishwakarma Sammelan–2012’ at Royal Gardens, Kalsanka, on Sunday February 5.

Swami Kalahastendra Saraswati of Katpady Mutt and Swami Gurushiva Sujnanamurti of Aremadanahalli Mutt in Hassan district will light the lamps at the event at 10.30 am on Sunday.
Chief minister (CM) D V Sadanand Gowda will inaugurate the Sammelan. Rajya Sabha member Oscar Fernandes will inaugurate the arts exhibition.

Former CM and JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy will release the souvenir.  State higher education minister Dr V S Acharya, Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister Krishna J Palemar, political leaders of national parties, religious leaders, veterans of Vishwakarma community, intellectuals, and dignitaries will attend the mega Sammelan.

A seminar on achievements and challenges of the Vishwakarma community will be held from 12.30 pm to 1.30 pm on Sunday.

The concluding ceremony will be held from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm, during which veteran achievers will be felicitated.

Vishwakarma Okkuta ® president Alevoor Yogish Acharya, and chief secretary Padubidri Dinesh Acharya were present at the press meet.
