Bantwal, Aug 18: A day-long special programme was organised under the aegis of Vishwakarma Samaja Seva Sangha, Bantwal, at the Vishwakarma Sabha Bhavan, Ajekal, on the occasion of Shravana.
The event featured Deepa Namaskara Pooja, cultural and entertainment games, a discourse on the significance of Shravan, stage programme, community lunch with a variety of delicacies, and dance performances.




The formal programme was inaugurated by retired teacher Ratnavati J Acharya, Baikadi. After receiving a felicitation, she said, “We must uphold and pass on the traditions and values inherited from our ancestors in Tulunadu to the next generation. Festivals play an important role in our country, and those in Shravan are particularly significant. It is believed that Lord Shiva consumed poison during the churning of the ocean in this month. Programmes like these serve as a platform to strengthen community bonding.”
Presiding over the function, association president Sudhakar Acharya said, “This programme has been a grand success beyond expectations. Children should be given value-based education. The Sabha Bhavan must be utilised by Vishwakarma members for good causes. The Sangha will also provide opportunities for talented children of the community to showcase their skills.”
Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions. Vishwajyothi Mahila Mandali president Vidya Ratnakar Acharya and treasurer Vishwanath Acharya, Marnabail, were present.
Guru Seva Parishat president Yuvaraj Acharya welcomed the gathering, secretary Umesh Acharya presented the report, Ashok Acharya read out the list of prize winners, and honorary president Manoj Acharya proposed a vote of thanks. Sunil B and Sandeep Acharya compered the event.
As part of the Shravan programme, competitions such as musical chairs, housie-housie, and pot-breaking were held for community members. The formal function was followed by Deepa Namaskara Pooja with Mahamangalarati and distribution of prasadam. Later, members shared a traditional lunch prepared at their homes.
