Shirish Chaudhary joins Shiv Sena after BJP snub in Amalner

Daijiworld Media Network - Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 25: Former Amalner MLA Shirish Chaudhary has joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena after being denied a BJP ticket in the 2024 assembly elections.

Chaudhary, who had contested as an independent against Mahayuti candidate Anil Patil of the NCP, said he felt betrayed by party colleagues who did not back him. "The Shiv Sena is doing a good job under the leadership of district guardian minister Gulabrao Patil. The party is making strides by focusing on the agenda of development," he told reporters.

Chaudhary, a close aide of chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, first won from Amalner as an independent in 2014 and later extended support to the BJP.
