Jerusalem, Sep 13: A Palestinian hotel employee stabbed two guests on Friday in Jerusalem, marking the second such attack in the area this week. The assailant, a resident of Shuafat in east Jerusalem, worked in the hotel kitchen at Kibbutz Tzuba. He reportedly emerged into the dining room and attacked two men, aged around 50 and 25.

Israeli paramedics said both victims sustained stab wounds to their torsos, with the older man in critical condition and the younger hospitalized with serious injuries. Israeli police described the incident as a militant attack.

An off-duty officer and the hotel’s dining manager overpowered the attacker until security forces arrived. The assailant was taken into custody along with three others suspected of aiding the assault.

Earlier this week, two Palestinians from the West Bank opened fire at a Jerusalem bus stop, killing six people in an attack claimed by Hamas. The latest violence occurs amid Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza, which began after Hamas’ October 7, 2023, assault and has resulted in tens of thousands of Palestinian deaths, fueling unrest in Israel and the occupied West Bank.
