Mumbai, Oct 28: Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda has chosen a path away from the film world, focusing instead on entrepreneurship and education. Currently pursuing a blended MBA programme at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A), Navya shared her experience of balancing academics, business, and personal growth.

Speaking to journalist Barkha Dutt on Mojo Story, Navya said, “It’s a two-year full-time blend of on-campus and online. Of course, it has been tough … anyone who’s done an MBA, especially from IIM-A, can attest to that.”

Reflecting on her first year, she said returning to formal education after six years was challenging but rewarding. “The best part for me has been the friendships. What I’ve learnt from my batch-mates is far more than what I’ve learnt inside the classroom,” she shared, adding that her professors have made the journey one of the most enriching experiences of her life.

Navya faced online criticism when news of her admission surfaced, with some questioning her decision to study in India instead of abroad. IIM-A professor Promila Agarwal, however, defended her, writing on X, “Even if people want to discredit her interview & CV, she, dammit, cleared the cut-off.”

Apart from academics, Navya is the founder of the non-profit Project Naveli, co-founder of women’s health-tech startup Aara Health, and an active member of her father’s business ventures. She also runs a popular podcast featuring her mother Shweta Bachchan Nanda and grandmother Jaya Bachchan, discussing women-centric and social issues.
