Mangaluru: Border crime meeting discusses crime control, joint operations

Mangaluru, Nov 23: A border crime meeting was held at the city police commissioner’s office on November 22 to discuss joint operations for crime control, tracking accused persons, and exchanging information on criminal activities along the Karnataka–Kerala border.

The meeting was chaired by Mangaluru city police commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy. Kannur range DIGP Yatish Chandra G H and Kasargod SP Vijay Bharat Reddy participated from Kerala.

Information was exchanged on various criminal cases occurring in the border regions of both states, including details of absconding accused, those with pending warrants, inter-state crime, and drug trafficking.

A plan of action was drawn up for sharing information and tracing accused persons who are wanted in cases registered in either state and are suspected to be hiding in border districts. The meeting also decided on strengthening cooperation and carrying out joint operations for crime control and detection.

Law and order DCP Mithun H N, along with senior officers from the Mangaluru city commissionerate and Dakshina Kannada district police, attended the meeting.
