Over 40,000 students yet to register for SSLC exams; officials to inspect all schools

Bengaluru, Dec 19: Over 40,000 students in Karnataka have missed registration for the upcoming SSLC examination, prompting the education department to order deputy directors to personally inspect schools across the state to ensure no eligible student is left out.

According to the Students Achievement Tracking System (SATS), of a total of 8,40,196 students, 7,99,762 have successfully registered, leaving 40,434 students without registration. “There is currently no data available regarding these 40,434 students,” said a senior department official.

The deadline for registration, which was December 9, has passed, and authorities are now moving swiftly to bridge the gap. The department has directed deputy directors to visit all government, aided, unaided, and private schools to identify discrepancies between SATS records and SSLC registration data, and take strict action to ensure every eligible student is registered.

Officials are also required to submit a detailed report explaining why more than 40,434 students were not registered, which will be forwarded to the director of KSEAB.
