Menstrual leave approved for state transport women staff from Jan 1

Bengaluru, Dec 24: The transport department has approved the provision of menstrual leave for women employees of four state transport corporations, including KSRTC.

As per the order, the managing director of KSRTC has issued directions to grant one day of menstrual leave per month to women employees and officers working in KSRTC, effective from January 1.

Women employees and officers aged between 18 and 52 years working in KSRTC will be eligible to avail this menstrual leave. There is no requirement to submit any medical certificate to avail the leave, and it must be taken within the respective month. Employees availing the leave have been instructed to specifically record it in their leave or attendance register, the order stated.

The menstrual leave facility for women employees working in the corporation will come into effect from January 1, 2026, and eligible employees can avail one day of menstrual leave every month.
