Mangaluru, Dec 24: St Agnes School celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm and splendour on the theme 'Euphoria 2025 – A fest of joy and excellence'. The event stood as a vibrant reflection of the institution’s unwavering commitment to holistic education, showcasing the creativity, discipline, cultural richness, and achievements of its students.
The programme commenced on a ceremonial note with a grand procession of the distinguished guests, escorted by the rhythmic beats of the school band led by Priyanka Correa. The dignitaries were accorded a warm and respectful welcome by the school community amidst applause and reverence. The honoured dignitaries present for the occasion were Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC, superior and joint secretary of St Agnes Institutions and president of the programme; Malini Hebbar, principal of Swastika National Business School and distinguished guest faculty, St Agnes Centre for PG Studies and Research – the chief guest; Sr Maria Sarika AC, principal; Sr Meena Fernandes AC, vice principal; and Pradeep Misquith, vice president of the PTA and Liston Derrick D’Souza the ex officio of the PTA.




































































































The event was formally inaugurated with an opening chorus, which filled the hall with harmony and set the perfect tone for the celebration. This was followed by a vibrant welcome dance, blending classical and Western styles, symbolizing unity in diversity.
The welcome address was delivered by Sr Meena Fernandes the vice- principal, who warmly greeted the gathering and highlighted the school’s journey of academic excellence, value-based education, and student empowerment. Her inspiring words set the stage for the celebrations that followed.
The cultural programme was a splendid display of talent across grades. Grade 5 presented a graceful 'Seasons Ballet Dance', portraying the beauty and rhythm of nature through expressive movements. Grade 1 and grade 9 performed 'Retro to Metro', a delightful fusion bridging generations with charm and energy. Grade 7 showcased a Kannada tableau titled 'Anubhuthi Anubhava', capturing emotions and childhood experiences through visual storytelling. Grade 3 mesmerized the audience with 'Galaxy of Talents', highlighting the unique abilities of young learners.
Grade 6 presented an indigenous tribal dance, depicting vibrant tribal art forms from four Indian states and celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage. An English theatrical performance of 'The Merchant of Venice' demonstrated students’ command over language, dialogue, and dramatic expression. Grade 7 staged a Kannada play titled 'Yuva Bhava', emphasizing the aspirations and responsibilities of today’s youth. Grade 9 delivered a powerful dance drama on Sudha Chandran, portraying perseverance, courage, and triumph over adversity. The programme concluded with Carol Singing, spreading festive cheer and Christmas joy among the audience.
Each performance was received with enthusiastic applause, reflecting the dedication, discipline, and hard work of both students and teachers.
The annual report for the academic year 2024–25 was presented by Nisha Fernandes and Reena Monteiro through a PowerPoint presentation. The report highlighted the school’s academic achievements, co-curricular milestones, sports accomplishments, outreach initiatives, and overall institutional growth. The presentation was well-structured and reflective of the school’s progress. The management expressed its appreciation to Tr. Anusha for her valuable contribution to the preparation of the report.
A significant highlight of the event was the honouring and prize distribution ceremony, during which students were recognized for excellence in sports, Bharatanatyam and the deputy cabinet ministers for their unwavering service towards school. Special honouring was done to Rayhana Kaiser Hassan the proud recipient of Karantha Balapuraskar Award in recognition to her outstanding achievement in sports. The special highlight was honouring the extra – cocurricular instructors. The segment was conducted efficiently by Tr Vindhya, acknowledging the perseverance and dedication of the achievers.
The gathering was further enriched by an inspiring address delivered by the chief guest, Malini Hebbar, who appreciated the school’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals and encouraged students to pursue excellence with confidence, resilience, and integrity. Her words left a lasting impression on both students and staff. She also congratulated the principal, students ,teachers for presenting a meaningful programme .
The president of the programme, Sr Dr Maria Roopa AC, addressed the gathering, emphasizing the values, vision, and mission of St Agnes Institutions. Her thoughtful message reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to holistic education rooted in discipline, compassion, and service.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Reena Monteiro, who expressed gratitude to the management, dignitaries, staff, students, parents, and all those who contributed to the success of the event.
The celebration concluded on a patriotic and unifying note with the singing of the School Anthem, leaving the audience with hearts filled with pride, joy, and cherished memories.
