Daijiworld Media Network - Panaji

Panaji, Jan 24: Conceived on the principle of being of the people, by the people and for the people, the community-led initiative Festa Do Povo is set to return with its third edition on January 24 and 25 at the pedestrian spine of Patto Plaza in Panaji.

The two-day festival will showcase Goa’s rich cultural heritage, environment and community spirit through a diverse line-up of performances and activities. The programme includes a traditional temple drum medley associated with Shigmo, lamp dance, brass band and jazz performances, Bharatnatyam, a children’s choir, dance shows, educational trails and live band performances.

An art corner and a dedicated children’s zone have also been planned to engage visitors of all age groups. Adding to the festive experience, food stalls by well-known city restaurants as well as home chefs will offer a variety of local flavours.

The festival will further feature informal storytelling sessions held across different corners of the venue, drawing inspiration from Goa’s folklore amid the mangrove-lined surroundings of Patto Plaza.

Festa Do Povo is free and open to the public, with no entry fee, inviting citizens and visitors alike to come together and celebrate Goa’s cultural essence.
