Plea in High Court seeks vigilance probe against principal chief engineer Uttam Parsekar

Panaji, Jan 29: A petition has been moved before the High Court seeking judicial intervention to ensure a thorough probe into allegations levelled against Principal Chief Engineer Uttam Parsekar. The petition calls for the Directorate of Vigilance to conduct an independent, impartial and time-bound investigation into complaints already submitted against the senior official.

The petitioners, Mahesh Patel and Lata Dattaram Desai, have stated that they had lodged detailed complaints outlining serious allegations, but despite the passage of time, the authorities have failed to take any meaningful or effective action. They have argued that such inaction warrants the court’s intervention to uphold transparency and accountability.

Alongside seeking a vigilance inquiry, the petitioners have also requested the court to direct the Goa government to refrain from granting any extension of service or other service-related benefits to Uttam Parsekar while the matter remains under judicial consideration.

The petition underscores concerns over administrative inaction and urges the High Court to ensure that the complaints are examined objectively and without undue delay.
