Vasco, Feb 13: Verna police have registered a case against six individuals and several others for allegedly forming an unlawful assembly and obstructing access to a hotel project in Arossim by constructing an illegal wall on a public road. The incident is reported to have taken place between February 8 and 10.

According to a complaint lodged by Arossim resident Bernard Dias, the accused — identified as Jose Joaquim Ferandes, Simao D’Silva, Darick Azavedo, Macklin Rodrigues, Alex Azavedo, Benny D’Silva and others — allegedly built a wall on a public roadway, thereby blocking entry to his hotel project site. The complaint states that the act resulted in unauthorised alteration and damage to public property.

It has also been alleged that when workers at the project site objected to the obstruction, the accused verbally abused them using obscene language and issued threats, including threats to life.

Police sub-inspector Mahesh Bhomkar is conducting further investigation into the case under the supervision of Police Inspector Anand Shirodkar.
