Dubai, Mar 4: India’s Abhishek Sharma continues to hold the No.1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I batter rankings, but his lead has narrowed with Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan making significant gains in the latest update.
Farhan, who became the first player to score two centuries at the same ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, smashed a superb hundred against Sri Lanka in Pallekele. The performance lifted him one place to second in the T20I batter rankings, achieving a new career-high rating.
Abhishek now leads Farhan by 26 rating points. The Pakistan opener also overtook England’s Phil Salt after accumulating 383 runs during the T20 World Cup.

There was further reshuffling inside the top 10. India’s Ishan Kishan moved up to fourth, while Tilak Varma climbed to sixth. South Africa’s Dewald Brevis also gained one place to sit eighth.
Zimbabwe’s Brian Bennett made a notable jump of six places to 11th following his 292-run haul in the tournament. South Africa duo Ryan Rickelton (13th) and Aiden Markram (16th) also advanced.
In the T20I bowling rankings, India spinner Varun Chakravarthy remains on top, though his lead has reduced to 18 rating points ahead of the knockout stages. Chakravarthy has picked up 12 wickets so far in the tournament.
Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed climbed two places to third, closing the gap at the top.
India pacers Jasprit Bumrah (seventh) and Arshdeep Singh (13th) also gained positions. England’s Liam Dawson (equal 14th) and South Africa’s Lungi Ngidi (20th) registered improvements.
Among all-rounders, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza retained his No.1 ranking. India’s Hardik Pandya moved up to second, overtaking Pakistan’s Saim Ayub.
West Indies veteran Jason Holder was another big mover, climbing eight places to 11th after an impressive campaign with both bat and ball at the T20 World Cup.
