Manchester, Apr 7: Harry Maguire has signed a contract extension with Manchester United, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
The new deal is a one-year extension to his existing contract, which was due to expire in June, with an option for a further one-year extension.
The 33-year-old defender has been in strong form this season, playing a key role as United climbed to third place in the Premier League with seven matches remaining.
Maguire has also earned a recall to the England national football team for the first time since September 2024 and is aiming to feature in the upcoming World Cup finals.

The defender, who became the world’s most expensive defender when he joined United from Leicester City for £80 million in 2019, had attracted strong interest from multiple clubs, including four Serie A teams, three Premier League sides and a Turkish club.
Despite the possibility of a more lucrative move, Maguire opted to stay in Manchester, where he is settled with his family and remains an influential figure in the dressing room.
United delayed contract talks earlier in the season when Maguire was not featuring regularly and the club’s prospects for next season were uncertain. However, with a likely return to European competition, the club has moved to secure experienced players.
His return from injury in January coincided with the appointment of manager Michael Carrick, and he has since been a consistent presence in defence, particularly amid injuries to key players including Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martínez.
Maguire is set to reach a milestone of 600 club appearances, having previously played for Sheffield United, Hull City and Wigan Athletic before joining Leicester City and later Manchester United.
However, he will miss United’s upcoming match against Leeds United after being sent off in a previous game against Bournemouth.
