Mangaluru's young author Reshel Fernandes profiled by ‘The Personalities of India’ magazine

Mangaluru, Apr 20: Reshel Bretny Fernandes, a young author, orator and final-year LLB student at SDM Law College, is gaining recognition for her writings on governance, youth participation and nation-building.

A recipient of the Kittur Rani Chennamma Award, Reshel has been actively writing on themes such as ‘Bharat @2047: Role of Youth’ and ‘Surajya – Good Governance and the Wheel of Democracy’. Her work focuses on civic awareness and the role of young citizens in strengthening democratic values.

She is also associated with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and is reportedly considering entering active politics in the near future.

Reshel has received several national and international recognitions, including the Deshratna Award 2025 presented at Bharat Mandapam. She has also been honoured with the J Maurus Award by the Indian Catholic Press Association.

Her contributions have been featured in various publications, with some platforms recognising her among emerging young authors. She has also been profiled by ‘The Personalities of India’ magazine, which described her as a voice representing the aspirations of a new India.
