Udupi: SMVITM student secures gold medals at state-level kickboxing championship

Udupi, May 30: Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management's (SMVITM) Mohammed Afreed, a second-year student of the artificial intelligence & data science department, has made outstanding achievement at the 6th state-level kickboxing championship 2026, held on May 24 at Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium.

Demonstrating exceptional skill, determination, and sportsmanship, Mohammed Afreed secured two gold medals in the Point Fight (89 kg) and M/F Weapon (Team) senior categories. In addition, he won a silver medal in the M/F Weapon senior category, making his performance one of the highlights of the championship.

His remarkable accomplishment has brought great pride and recognition to SMVITM while serving as an inspiration to fellow students to pursue excellence in sports and extracurricular activities alongside academics.

The management, principal, faculty members, and students of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management have extended their heartfelt congratulations to Mohammed Afreed on this commendable achievement and wished him continued success in his future sporting endeavors.
