Mangaluru, Jun 2: The eagerly awaited reopening of St Aloysius College Higher Primary School, Kodialbail, for the academic year 2026–27 commenced on June 1 for students of Grades I to VII amidst an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and anticipation. The school assembly quadrangle was packed with students, staff and parents, all eager to embark on a new educational journey.

The programme commenced with a solemn invocation through a prayer song setting a serene and harmonious tone led by the teachers, seeking God's blessings for a successful and fruitful academic year. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the headmistress, Jositta Noronha, assistant headmaster, Liya D'Souza, a PTA representative, Sr Amulya Cardoza the new staff member and student representatives from Grades I and VII. The ceremony symbolised the transition from darkness to light and from ignorance to knowledge, setting the tone for the academic year ahead.

The prayer service that followed was the highlight of the morning. It beautifully incorporated meaningful symbolism and moments of reflection, inspiring students to begin the new year with hope, gratitude and determination.

Following the prayer service, the headmistress, Jositta Noronha, delivered a warm and heartfelt welcome address. She introduced and welcomed the new members of the teaching faculty, who were presented with roses as a gesture of appreciation and welcome by the assistant headmaster, Liya D'Souza.

In her address, the headmistress elaborated on the school's vision and mission statements, emphasising their importance in guiding the educational journey of every student. She encouraged the students to imbibe the values embodied in these statements and to work closely with their teachers to make learning more meaningful and enriching. She also stressed the importance of adhering to the school's rules and regulations in order to maintain a disciplined and conducive learning environment.

The programme concluded on a melodious note with the singing of the National Anthem, encapsulating the spirit of unity, patriotism and pride as the students and staff embarked on a new academic year filled with endless possibilities and opportunities for growth.

As a part of mid day meals, all the students were served sumptuous pulao.

St Aloysius College Pre-Primary School, Kodialbail, warmly welcomed the students of LKG and UKG on June 2, marking the beginning of the new academic year with great enthusiasm and joy.

The little learners were greeted with warmth and affection by the Headmistress and their teachers, creating a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere on their first day at school. The campus was filled with excitement as the tiny tots stepped into their classrooms, eager to embark on a new learning journey.

Adding to the festive spirit, the children received beautifully crafted props and happily posed for photographs, capturing memorable moments of their special day. Their bright smiles and infectious enthusiasm brought life and colour to the occasion.
