Bantwal, Jun 13: Loretto Central School Loretto witnessed a proud and memorable occasion as the investiture ceremony for the academic year 2026–27 was held with great enthusiasm and dignity. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected school cabinet and celebrated the values of leadership, responsibility, discipline, and service.
The programme commenced with a prayer dance presented by the students of grade 6. The programme was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Sandeep Kumar Shetty, police sub-inspector, Bantwal; Fr Jason Vijay Monis, principal; Anitha Pais, vice principal; and Rodney Ivan D'Souza, PTA vice president.

The highlight of the programme was the investiture ceremony, coordinated by Violet Rodrigues, election coordinator. The dignitaries conferred badges and sashes upon the newly elected school cabinet members. School captain Jonaida of grade 10, school vice-captain Preeth R P of grade 9, along with ten other office bearers, took the oath, pledging to uphold the values and traditions of the school with sincerity, commitment, and dedication. Rodney Ivan D'Souza, PTA vice president, presented roses to the newly elected leaders as a token of encouragement and appreciation.
School captain Jonaida, in her acceptance speech, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the trust and confidence placed in her. She accepted her responsibility with humility and dedication and assured everyone that she would work together with the school cabinet, teachers, and students to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive school environment where every student feels valued and encouraged.
School vice-captain Preeth R P, in his speech, thanked the management, teachers, and fellow students for electing him as their leader. He stated that leadership is not merely a position but a responsibility that involves serving others, setting a good example, and working together for the betterment of the school. He promised to carry out his duties with honesty, dedication, and respect while listening to students' ideas and concerns.
The programme also witnessed the inauguration of various clubs and co-curricular activities for the academic year 2026–27. The dignitaries formally inaugurated the clubs and encouraged students to actively participate in them to discover their talents, develop new skills, and build confidence.
Chief guest Sandeep Kumar Shetty, police sub inspector, Bantwal Police Station, inspired the students to make the best use of every opportunity provided by the school. He encouraged them to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities, emphasizing that such experiences help shape future leaders. He reminded the students that today's young leaders could become tomorrow's politicians, social leaders, and responsible citizens through honesty, hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
Principal Fr Jason Vijay Monis congratulated the newly elected school cabinet members and reminded them that leadership is not about commanding others but about serving them. He stressed the importance of integrity, empathy, and responsibility in leadership. He encouraged the leaders to step out of their comfort zones, become the voice of their peers, especially those who may not always be heard, and understand that leadership is a duty rather than a privilege. He also highlighted the importance of clubs and co-curricular activities as valuable platforms that help students grow, discover their potential, and prepare for future success.
Daivik of grade 8 delivered the welcome address. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Joshitha of grade 8. The programme was compered by Eva of grade 8. The ceremony came to an end with the national anthem.
