Two minor girls reported missing in South Goa within 24 hours

Daijiworld Media Release - Panaji

Panaji, Jun 16: Two minor girls have been reported missing in separate incidents in South Goa within a span of 24 hours, prompting police to launch extensive search operations.

The first case was reported from the Quelosim area, where a minor girl allegedly went missing from the custody of her lawful guardian on the morning of June 13. Following a complaint filed by her mother, Verna police registered a case under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 8 of the Goa Children's Act and began an investigation.

Less than a day later, another family from the same region reported that their minor daughter had gone missing on June 14. According to the complaint, the girl was allegedly taken away by an unidentified person.

Police teams have been conducting searches and gathering information related to both cases. Officers have visited locations connected to the incidents and circulated descriptions of the missing girls to police stations across Goa and neighbouring states to help trace them.

Verna police have appealed to the public to share any information that could assist in locating the girls.

The incidents have raised concerns over the safety of children in the state. While the families continue to wait anxiously for their daughters' return, police expressed confidence that both girls would be traced safely.
