Panaji, Jun 21: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday began preparations for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections with an ambitious target of winning 30 seats, calling upon party workers to start groundwork across the state under the slogan “Chala, Utha, Sajj Vha” (Come, Rise, Be Ready).
The announcement was made during the BJP Goa state executive meeting, where party leaders urged workers to strengthen the organisation, expand outreach and work in a coordinated manner ahead of the elections.
A total of 197 out of 209 state executive members attended the meeting, which was also attended by Union Minister L Murugan, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, Union Minister of State Shripad Naik, Rajya Sabha MP Sadanand Shet Tanavade and other senior BJP leaders.

Addressing a press conference after the meeting, BJP Goa president Damu Naik said special responsibilities had been assigned to mandal and booth-level office-bearers to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
“Party workers have responded positively to the target of securing 30 seats in the next Assembly elections. The karyakartas have been asked to take the welfare schemes and development initiatives of the Central and state governments directly to the people and ensure beneficiaries are aware of the available programmes,” he said.
The state executive meeting also passed a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing a significant tenure in office. Party leaders highlighted development initiatives under his leadership and urged workers to promote the messages shared through the Prime Minister’s “Mann Ki Baat” programme.
Earlier, addressing the gathering, Union Minister L Murugan outlined the BJP’s development roadmap for Goa and called on party workers to ensure effective implementation of Central government schemes while further strengthening the organisation.
Murugan also claimed that there was no anti-incumbency sentiment against the BJP government in Goa and expressed confidence that the party would retain power with a clear majority in the next Assembly elections.
He said the BJP would continue its winning momentum in Goa, similar to Gujarat and other states where the party has retained power.
