CA Jagadish B Shetty elected ABCA Mumbai president

Mumbai, Jul 3: The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Association of Bunts Chartered Accountants, Mumbai (ABCA), a professional body of Bunt Chartered Accountants in Greater Mumbai, was held on Wednesday, July 1, at the banquet hall of Mumbai Metro Hotel, Sakinaka, Mumbai.

The AGM was presided over by the outgoing President, CA Vishwanath Shetty. The meeting also commemorated Chartered Accountants Day. The inaugural ceremony was attended by Bunt Sangha president Praveen Bhoja Shetty, ABCA vice president CA Ashok Shetty, honorary general secretary CA Jagadish B Shetty, treasurer CA Sudesh Shetty, and several senior Chartered Accountants, who jointly inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

CA Jagadish B Shetty, son of Bhoja Shetty and Radha Bhoja Shetty, hails from Mallamar House, Radha Heritage, Chokkabettu-Katla, Surathkal, in Mangaluru Taluk, Karnataka. He is the founder partner of the prestigious SNA (Shetty Naik & Associates), Chartered Accountants, based in Mumbai.

He has served as the honorary treasurer of the S M Shetty Educational Institutions, Powai, managed by the Bunt Sangha, Mumbai, and also as the honorary treasurer of the Bunt Sangha Borivali Education Committee, which administers the Bunt Sangha's Shashikiran Shetty Educational Institutions campus at I.C. Colony, Borivali (West). He has also served as the honorary general secretary of ABCA.

At present, he serves as a professional director of the Matrubhoomi Co-operative Credit Society Ltd., a unit of the Bunt Sangha, secretary of the Borivali Education Committee, advisor and election officer of the Maharashtra State Unit of the Karnataka Working Journalists' Association (KUWJ), and Advisor to the Kannadiga Journalists' Association, Maharashtra.

He has been qualified Chartered Accountant and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India 25 years of CA practice. Also, a qualified Information Systems Auditor holding DISA awarded by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. (DISA – ICAI). Completed Bachelor of Law Degree from University of Mumbai (L.L.B) Completed certificate course on Forensic Accounting and Fraud Detection from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (FAFD – ICAI) Certified - CSR Impact Assessment Auditor

With nearly two decades of professional experience, founder & managing partner of “M/s Shetty Naik & Associates” Chartered Accountants, Mumbai Served as Co-opted Member of the Committee on MSME & Start–up, ICAI. Served as a Member of various Standing & Non-Standing Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Served as a Member of the Committee on Public & Government Financial Management of WIRC of ICAI.

Being the managing partner of the firm, he looks after the entire range of practices relating to Taxation, Audit & Assurance, Compliance, Due Diligence, M & A, Restructuring & Valuations, Company Law & FEMA matters. Practicing under the banner SNA, Chartered Accountants and handled more than 2000 clients. Speaker on various Forums on various subjects such as GST, Direct Tax, Restructuring, Company Law, etc. Contributed to the GST implementation in the Indian Navy, Army Base (INS), Mazagon Dock Limited and IDBI, etc. Many Branch Associates offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Gujarat & Dubai. More than 120 professionals are working. He has married to CA Dipti Shetty, who is also associated with his firm. He has two Son’s Hriday Shetty and Arjun Shetty .
