Tehran, Jul 17: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) on Friday claimed it had launched a new series of retaliatory attacks targeting US military installations in Syria, Kuwait and Oman as part of its ongoing Operation Nasr-2, according to Iranian state media.
In an official statement, the IRGC said the latest operations were carried out during the 11th, 12th and 13th phases of the campaign. It said the 11th phase, dedicated to soldiers killed in Bampur in Iran's Iranshahr region, included a surprise strike on a US special operations command centre in the al-Tanf area of southeastern Syria.

The IRGC also claimed that Iranian forces struck a US missile defence surveillance radar, multiple weapons depots, two HIMARS rocket launchers and missile stockpiles at a military facility in Kuwait. According to the statement, the attack triggered a major fire inside the base.
In a separate announcement, the IRGC said its forces targeted and destroyed a naval surveillance radar at the Salmah Plateau and a US air surveillance radar in Oman's Ghanam region.
Following the reported attacks, the Kuwaiti Army said its air defence systems were actively intercepting hostile missiles and drones. In a statement posted on X, the military urged residents to remain calm and follow official safety instructions, adding that any explosion sounds heard were the result of air defence operations against incoming threats.
The latest claims come days after the IRGC announced strikes on US military facilities in Bahrain and Jordan. Iran said its Aerospace Force had attacked the US base at Al-Azraq in Jordan, claiming to have hit aircraft shelters housing F-15, F-16 and F-35 fighter jets, as well as MQ-9 drones.
Iran further alleged that several US operations against the country had been launched from bases in Jordan and called on the Jordanian public to oppose the continued presence of American forces. The IRGC also urged the expulsion of US troops from the country.
Separately, the IRGC said its naval forces had targeted facilities linked to the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, including command centres, warehouses storing military equipment and fuel storage installations. It described the attacks as retaliation for the US naval deployment in the Indian Ocean and its actions affecting maritime routes under the pretext of monitoring the Strait of Hormuz.
The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world's most strategically important maritime chokepoints, serving as the primary route for a significant share of global crude oil and liquefied natural gas exports from Gulf nations to international markets.
The claims made by the IRGC have not been independently verified, and there was no immediate confirmation or response from US officials regarding the reported strikes.
