Beirut, Jul 18: The Israeli army has demolished three schools in southern Lebanon, the country's education minister said, accusing Israel of targeting educational infrastructure amid continuing cross-border hostilities.
Lebanon's Education Minister Rima Karami said the schools were destroyed in villages near the border, describing the incident as a serious blow to the country's education sector and calling for international intervention to protect civilian facilities.
According to the minister, the destruction of the schools has disrupted education for children in the affected communities and further aggravated the humanitarian situation in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military has not immediately issued an official statement on the allegation.
The latest development comes amid continued tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border, where exchanges of fire between Israeli forces and Hezbollah have intensified in recent months, causing damage to civilian infrastructure and displacing thousands of residents on both sides of the border.
Further details regarding the circumstances of the demolitions and any casualties were not immediately available.
