Love affair dispute turns fatal in Nagpur, youth dies after attack

Nagpur, Jul 25: A youth who was critically injured in a brutal attack over an alleged love affair in Nagpur's Kamptee area has succumbed to his injuries, police said. The incident has sparked concern among residents, who have demanded stricter action against the accused.

The deceased has been identified as Jamsher alias Jammu Munir Khan Patel. According to reports, he had gone to meet his girlfriend in Kumbhare Colony, Kamptee, on the night of July 18 when he was allegedly attacked by the woman's father, Vijay alias Tyson Namdev Dongre, with a sharp weapon.

After the initial assault, Jamsher reportedly tried to flee to save his life. However, the accused allegedly chased him and rammed him with an autorickshaw, causing severe injuries.

Jamsher was admitted to the intensive care unit, where he died during treatment.

The victim's family has alleged that the main accused, Vijay Dongre, was a history-sheeter who had been externed from the city but was still moving about freely, raising serious questions over police enforcement.

The family has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused, stringent punishment, and a high-level investigation into the case.

The incident has created panic among residents of Kamptee, who have expressed concern over rising crime in the area. Locals have urged the police to strengthen law enforcement, improve public safety, and ensure strict action against those involved in the murder.
