Nanded, Jul 30: A sessions court in Kandhar, Nanded, has sentenced a man to life imprisonment after convicting him for the murder of his mother during a domestic dispute.

The accused, Nrusinha Balaji Kendre, was found guilty of killing his mother with a sharp weapon at Belawadi village under the jurisdiction of Malakoli police station on October 24, 2023.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s husband, police registered a murder case and arrested Kendre, who holds an engineering degree.

During the investigation, officials collected witness statements, medical and forensic evidence, seized the weapon used in the crime and submitted the chargesheet within the stipulated period.

Police officials attributed the conviction to effective investigation and prosecution efforts supported by the district’s Trial Monitoring Cell, which was established to ensure proper follow-up of serious criminal cases.
