Dhar (Madhya Pradesh), Aug 23: A man, his four-year-old son and the child's uncle were killed, while a 12-year-old girl was seriously injured after their motorcycle was hit by a Bolero car near Jirabad on the Mangod-Manawar highway in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar district on Sunday.

The family was travelling to invite a sister for Raksha Bandhan when the accident occurred around noon near Dagaria forest village, about five kilometres from the sister's home in Rodda village on Manawar Road.

According to police, Antarsingh, 32, a labourer from Keshvi, was travelling with his four-year-old son Ashok, 12-year-old daughter Resham and 50-year-old uncle Bhurusingh.

The family was heading to extend an invitation for Raksha Bandhan when a Bolero travelling from Amjhera towards Zirabad collided with their motorcycle. The impact was severe and threw the motorcycle a considerable distance from the road.

Antarsingh, Ashok and Bhurusingh died on the spot. Resham sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Gandhwani Hospital by Zirabad police for treatment.

Emergency services reached the spot after receiving information about the accident. The bodies were sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police officials at the Zirabad outpost said preliminary investigation indicated that the Bolero had struck the motorcycle from behind. Police are recording statements from witnesses and collecting evidence from the accident site.

Traffic on the Mangod-Manawar road was disrupted for some time as passers-by gathered at the scene following the crash.

The incident has plunged the family and the village into mourning. What was meant to be a festive visit ahead of Raksha Bandhan ended in tragedy, with police continuing their investigation into the exact circumstances of the collision.
