Rain likely to return to Dakshina Kannada; yellow alert issued

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Nov 5: The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall in Dakshina Kannada district over the next few days and issued a yellow alert for the region.

The southwest monsoon has become active once again due to a weather disturbance over the Bay of Bengal, raising the possibility of further rainfall across the district.

Mangaluru city and surrounding areas remained cloudy from Wednesday morning, while good rainfall was recorded in the evening.

Heavy showers were also reported in several parts of Sullia, Puttur and Beltangady taluks, as well as around the foothills of the Western Ghats, including Charmadi, Shiradi and Agumbe.

Residents, particularly those in vulnerable areas near the Western Ghats, have been advised to remain cautious in view of the forecast.
