New Delhi, Nov 7: Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has urged people to raise awareness about cancer prevention, recognise early warning signs and seek timely screening and treatment on the occasion of National Cancer Awareness Day.

In a social media post, Nadda emphasised that public awareness and access to screening services are essential in the fight against cancer. He encouraged people to undergo recommended screening for common cancers, including oral, breast and cervical cancers.

The minister also advised citizens to avoid tobacco and alcohol, exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet to reduce cancer risks. He urged people to consult medical professionals if they notice any unusual or persistent symptoms.

Nadda further encouraged citizens to visit their nearest Ayushman Arogya Mandir or healthcare facility to obtain information about available cancer screening services.

National Cancer Awareness Day is observed in India every year on November 7 to promote awareness about cancer prevention, early detection and treatment.
