Tehran, Nov 6: Iran has sent a nuclear proposal to the United States through Qatar, but has made it clear that discussions on the offer will take place only after Washington fulfils seven conditions set by Tehran, a senior Iranian official told Reuters on Thursday.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the United States was reviewing the proposal but declined to share further details.

Mediators have intensified efforts to bring an end to the conflict between Iran and the United States amid concerns that hostilities could resume after the US midterm elections. US President Donald Trump recently declined to rule out restarting military operations after the elections, while Iran is reportedly preparing a wider retaliation if the war resumes.
Asked whether he had seen Iran's proposal, Trump told reporters that Tehran was not going to do anything without Washington's approval. He reiterated that Iran would not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons.
Iran's top security official Mohsen Rezaei, speaking during a visit to Russia on Thursday, said Tehran had already communicated seven conditions to Washington.
"As long as they do not execute our seven conditions, we will neither open the Strait of Hormuz nor have negotiations," Rezaei said.
Iran's demands reportedly include the lifting of US sanctions, the release of frozen Iranian assets and payment of war reparations, among other conditions. The United States, meanwhile, has maintained that nuclear issues must be included in any initial negotiations.
The United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28, following which Tehran retaliated with strikes on Israel and Gulf countries hosting US military bases.
The conflict also spread to Lebanon, where Iran-backed Hezbollah engaged in fighting with Israel. More recently, the tensions extended to Yemen, with Iran-aligned Houthi forces targeting energy facilities, airports and other locations in Saudi Arabia.
