Bhatkal, Jun 13: As downpour continued, water entered many compounds and houses in the city.

Locals blamed negligence of the municipality. They complained against the municipality for not taking measures to clean water connection tunnels because of which rain water overflowed.

Nagappa Naik, speaking to media person told that a complaint was given to the municipality 15 days ago to clean the tunnels, but they did not show any interest because of which water entered all the compounds.

Choked drains caused water enter private compounds of Mushma Street, Dhanda Kaat Bhatkal.

TMC president said that the problem will be solved within few days.

    Once 'Bhatkal' is famous for Jain Community. Still some from muslim community elders are following same tradition - taking there food before sun-set.
