Udupi, Jun 15: Darpana Charitable Trust was inaugurated by school children of a remote village named Kurnimakki in Thirthahalli taluk, Karnataka, recently. The same day, school books, toys, cupboards, and chairs were donated to the school which lacked basic infrastructure.

A team of 20 youngsters with a motto for serving society have founded the Trust which aims to develop two major areas of society—education and healthcare.

Speaking on the occasion, president of Darpana Charitable Trust and assistant professor of Manipal University Guru Prasad Rao said that the Trust would strive hard to provide free education to poor children and necessary medical assistance to the villagers. He also stressed that the Trust will have no boundaries and is willing to serve in any part of the state for the said cause.

Rao also pointed out that Team Darpana can be accessed by the needy public for any assistance. He also requested all the youth to put maximum effort and work towards the welfare of the society.

Secretary of the Trust Shashidhar R H, treasurer Nareen K S, and other board of trustees namely Girish Rao, Vasuki Shayana, Ravi Prakash K J, Karthik M, Sudharshan, Harish, Nagesh Rao, Abhilash Marichi, Naveen, Vivekananda Mane, Jagadish Achar, Anantharama, Chetan Gudigar, Prashant P, Varun Marichi, Dileep K M, and Niteesh Vasuki were present on the occasion.
