Honda launches Dream Yuga bike


Kolkata, June 20 (IBNS): Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), the two wheeler company of Honda in India, launched three India specific corporate directions on Wednesday.

The three directions being Honda’s brand slogan, ‘Sach Kar Denge Sapne’, its brand ambassador Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar and its new bike Dream Yuga.

HMSI Vice President-Sales & Marketing, Yadvinder S Guleria said that, HMSI witnessed a 50 per cent growth in April 2012.

“We sold 21 lakhs units in the fiscal year 2011-12, and are intending to sell 27 lakhs units during the current fiscal year,” said Guleria adding that their target is to achieve a growth of 30 per cent  over previous year.

Guleria said that to meet the growing demand of the Indian market, HMSI is building a new plant with production capacity 12 lakhs units in Karnataka.

HMSI also has two other plants at Haryana and Rajasthan with production capacity of 16 lakhs and 12 lakhs units respectively.

Guleria declared that once the three plants become operational, the cumulative production capacity will reach 4 million units annually.

He said, “In the current fiscal year, we are planning to add a total of 300 outlets all over India.”
