Mangalore: Canara High School Investiture Ceremony Held

Mangalore, Jun 21: The Investiture Ceremony of the Prefectorial Board and release of the annual magazine “SPOORTHI” of Canara High School-CBSE was organized at T V Raman Pai Auditorium on Tuesday,  June 19. 

Honorary president of Canara High School Association (CHSA), S S Kamath, honorary secretary of CHSA, M Ranganath Bhat, members of the governing council - Vaman Kamath, Maroor Sudhir Pai, Basty Purushottam Shenoy, Ganesh Kamath, honorary correspondent Kochikar Sudhakar Pai; Advisor Ramesh Kedilaya, principal Joy J Rai, PTA president Tina Kamath and other members of the PTA were present at the occasion.

The programme commenced with a prayer showcased in a classical dance form. The Governing Council members gave the badges and sashes to the Prefects and House Captains which was followed by the Pledge to commit themselves to their duties. The Oath was administered by Principal Mrs. Joy Rai.

The dignitaries and the members of the Prefectorial Board lit the ceremonial lamp. The release of the 2nd volume of the school magazine “SPOORTHI” was graciously done by Shri S.S. Kamath, Honorary President of CHSA.

The dignitaries present, spoke on the occasion and congratulated all the Prefects for being chosen.

S S Kamath applauded the ceremony and advised students to perform their duties sincerely and with dedication. He also advised all the students to co-operate with the Prefects.

M Ranganath Bhat, Honorary Secretary gave the example of Sachin Tendulkar and asked the students to imbibe his foresight quality that would help them in being alert.

The Honorary Correspondent, Kochikar Sudhakar Pai said that the Prefects were chosen with the sole intention of leading the team just like M S Dhoni was chosen as a captain for the Indian cricket team. He also said that a leader need not necessarily be an expert but should be capable of guiding his/her team members.

The Advisor, Ramesh Kedilaya said that the Prefects must follow the principle of  “HOPE” in which H stands for honesty, O for optimism, P for politeness and E for enthusiasm.

The ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks and the National Anthem.

The programme was compered by Shantheri Shenoy and was organized by Purnima J Bhat.
