Mangalore, Aug 23: Rise in cases of rat fever across Dakshina Kannada district has become a worry not only for the people, but also the health officials and the government. After the death of two young brothers in Bantwal on August 13, the residents of Bantwal who suffer from fever are rushing to hospital for a thorough checkup. Due to heavy rush in hospitals and clinics medical officials are finding it tough to handle the situation.

According to the latest report at least six more people have been infected with rat fever in Bantwal taluk.

Meanwhile, health minister Aravind Limbavali who was on a visit to Udupi on Wednesday August 22 rushed to KMC Hospital in Mangalore to meet patients with suspected rat fever. He cautioned the health officials and the people of rat fever which is spreading across the district.

"I have asked medical teams to visit every house possible in Sullia and Bantwal taluks and educate as well as treat people if required. People suffering from fever should be careful, and immediately visit the nearest doctor," he said.

He was accompanied by district BJP president Padmanabha Kottari and Mangalore South BJP unit president Srikar Prabhu.

When Rats (Heggana) are ruling our country Rat Fever is bound to spread. Pl. kill those rats in Bengaluru and New Delhi in next Election without fail. Right-wing and Centerist parties have been given ample opportunity to rule the country and uplift the nation, but they have failed. Now at least let us test Leftist Parties in our State and at the Centre.
