Kundapur: Deputy CM K S Eshwarappa Visits Kollur Mookambika Temple

Kundapur, Aug 24: Karnataka deputy chief minister, K S Eshwarappa visited the Kollur Mookambika Temple here on Friday, August 24 and offered prayers to the presiding deity.
Eshwarappa was accompanied by his family members, including his wife Vijayalaxmi and son Kantesh. He arrived at the temple at around 11.30 am and spent around an hour offering prayers.
A huge posse of police personnel was deployed on Friday morning in and around the temple premises.
K Laxmi Narayan, Byndoor MLA , Shankar Shetty Belladi, taluk panchayat president, Mohandas Shenoy, president of Kundapur municipality and other members were present.
Speaking to the media he said that there is no political intention behind his visit and the puja is for betterment of the state. He said that the Karnataka state is facing droughts and the Chandhika Homa is being performed for the betterment of the state. He places his belief in Mookambika Devi. Many devotees visit this holy place from around the country on a regular basis.
When asked about Halady Srinivas Shetty, he said, "He is simple man. He never had greed for position and I respect his friendship."
Mookambika temple, an ancient temple is located at Kollur in Karnataka. It is the only temple which is dedicated to goddess Parvathi and is believed to be created by Parashurama.
