Veronica Rego, President of SMKC Dubai, says – “SMKC Dubai has always aimed at being unique in all its endeavors and is considered to be one of the most versatile and generous associations by our community, not only in the Gulf but across the entire Konkan belt.   Few but sincere and enterprising people who are still together as one family were able to 'Wipe more tears'  and 'Bring more Smiles' on the faces of the downtrodden.  Whilst we thank  God and Mother Mary for granting strength and courage, I thank each and every member and especially our benefactors who trusted us and given support throughout these past years in our endeavour to reach out”.

It is time to slow down,  time to retire,  say few of the senior dedicated members.  But the philanthropic works of St. Mary's Konkan Community (SMKC) Dubai will continue through the two established EDUCATION and MEDICAL Trust Funds.

I agree, the students who have had the privilege of securing Engineering Degrees thru the SMKC funds should pay back after securing jobs,so that other poor and deserving students can benefit as well. In this way the trust can carry on the good work.

This is true conversion: contributing generously to charities and not creating social menace. We cannot stop conversions by attacking the minorities but by defending the human values which involves sacrifice. For that we need education. We can not begin change with uneducated unemployed, illiterate youth. They are only fit for political goondagiri.
