Abu Dhabi: Mangalorean Prashant Pinto Dies in Road Mishap

Daijiworld Media Network - Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, Nov 21: In an unfortunate incident, Mangalorean Prashant Pinto ( 38) passed away at Musaffah, Abu Dhabi on Saturday November 17 in a road accident.

His body was identified by his brother Prakash Pinto on Wednesday November 21 at an Abu Dhabi hospital morgue.

Prashant who hails from Derebail parish is the husband of Tina Pinto and son of Henry and Cynthia Pinto of Merthi Prakash Estate, Bilalkoppa.

It is learnt that Prashant, who lived alone in a studio flat in the Mussafah area of Abu Dhabi went missing since Saturday evening. All efforts to locate him went in vain. With the help of the police, they first entered his flat through the window and found the fan and laptop on and the mobile on charge. It was assumed that Prashant had gone out for his normal evening walk and could not have gone far. However, there was no trace of him .

Prashant’s brother Prakash confirmed that the police informed him that he was fatally run over by a vehicle driven by a UAE national, close to his building on Saturday evening. Prashant apparently died on the spot. The driver has been arrested and his vehicle impounded. However, as Prashant did not have any identification on his self, it was not until Wednesday that they located and identified his body in the hospital morgue.

Prashant leaves behind his wife, son, parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Dear Pinto Family, Tina & Tian,

This is a deeply sad and difficult time for you all...so very saddened to hear of your irreparable loss. So untimely, so sudden, so devastating. God alone knows why and what next. From all the messages I have read here, the world has lost a wonderful person, full of life and love and laughter. May the Lord console you all and May He watch over all of you, and May Prashanth's memories be always alive in your hearts and home!

You may not recall who I am but you will know my late grandmother, Lily Mascarenhas, from Urwa Stores. My family joins me in consoling you all at this difficult time in your lives.

The Lord never leaves his own as our names are written on the palms of His hands (Ish 49:16). Everything might look as if come to an end but what is impossible for man is possible for my God. He will definitely show his way to Tina in everything (Ps 32:8). Your physical presence in this world will surely be missed Prashant and my heart cries to it but I rejoice for you have entered the final place of rent which our Heavenly Lord has kept in store for each one of us.

Read so many comments about Prashant Pinto on FB today and also on Daijiworld. We (Me & Asha) are proud to be counted amongst his friends right from college days. PINTO, you will be missed but you will never be forgotten. The fun moments spent with you in College and in Dubai will forever be cherished. I can't remember anyone else amongst our friends, you could infuse so much laughter and fun into others life's. The last picture I have of you was in our house in Dubai when you, Roy, Asha and me had a re-union and spent hours in the balcony reminiscing our college days. PINTO, RIP. Dear Pinto Family members,
This news sent a shudder down my spine yesterday and I am still finding it difficult to digest this fact. Kindly accept our heartfelt condolences on the untimely demise of Prashanth who for us will always be "Pinto" absolutely the king of good times.

Having been at St. Aloysius for all my student life I think Pinto's charisma and charecter is not something too many people will have. A person who could gel with anyone at anytime, crack jokes on the spot, create fun out of nowehere even in the more dire situations I guess differentiated him from others. I think if all of us his friends take a leaf from his book of life and try to do a small percentage of what he did we could enhance the lives of so many people around us. Prashanth as we say farewell we want to thank you for all the brilliant memories you gave all of us in your short span on this earth. Lay in happiness in the arms of the almighty till we all meet again.
    Adios..

It’s very sad situation when any expatriate met with fatal road accident caused by any Local Arab Community. No doubt they will be behind bars but within 2 or 3 years they will be freed or pardoned by rulers order during Eid Occasion. We do not even know whether proper compensation will be paid or not? Though UAE/Oman Arabs are not so arrogant but if they don’t have proper Insurance Policy for their Car, then question of compensation will be the big issue. On the contrary, if any Local Arab dies because of road accident caused by any Expatriate, Police will ensure that proper compensation will be paid else they will languish in jail forever unless some good Samaritan comes up to pay compensation on behalf of them and they will be deported for good too. An error from a reckless driver cost a wife her husband, a son his precious father and the parents their priceless son and brought pain and sorrow in the lives of all those who knew Prashant. Dear Prashant's wife, child, his parents, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends,

Prashant was a very very close friend of my brother Nigel Concessao and I have met him on several occasions. He was such a jovial person that he entertained each and everyone he came across in his life. I enjoyed his jokes and I can never forget him. I was shocked when I heard the news of his sad and untimely demise. Our entire family is shocked. We still can't believe that he is no more. What can we do in a sad situation like this except for praying to Almighty God to rest his soul in peace and to give strength to his wife, child, parents, brothers and sisters and all his relatives and friends to bear this irreparable loss. With prayers, Muriel Gomes and entire family members.

Alas, when will we ever learn to respect other peoples' lives? When will this reckless driving stop? How much can police do in such events, where all you get to know is after the damage is done or beyond repair??? Absolutely heart wrenching to say the least.... May his soul rest in peace... and courage to family
