Beltangady: Three missing women, child traced in Bangalore

Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (VM)

Beltangady, Mar 6: Four people who were missing from a over a week were traced in Bangalore on Tuesday March 5. They were brought back and handed over to their family members by Beltangady SI Babu Gowda.

In one case, a broker had allegedly promised a widow that he would get her re-married. The woman who blindly believed broker’s words left for Bangalore along with her son and later returned home when the truth came to light.

Sheelavathi (35) from Belalu and her son Muralidhar (9) left home on February 27 on the pretext of attending a self-help group meeting and did not return home. In this regard, Leelavathi’s brother Umesh filed a case with Beltangady police.

Police while investigating the matter came to know that the mother and son were in Bangalore. They were later brought back home safely. As per the information obtained, the broker had planned to give the widow in marriage to a person from Gulbarga. But after Sheelavathi reached Bangalore, she came to know that his assurance had been a false one to lure her into a trap. She thus contacted a few persons back home and with the help of police, she and her son reached home safely.

Not much information was obtained by the police about the broker. It is learnt that the broker had been fooling many women in similar cases and luring them away from their homes.

In another case, Muzamil (17) from Mundaje and Fathima Zohra (24) had been missing from February 20. Muzamil was later found to be working in one of the call centers in Bangalore, while Zohra was employed as a maid in a house in Shivajinagar. Both were brought back and handed over to their families.

Beltangady police with the help of local police in Bangalore traced them and thus these two missing cases were solved.

Our village people are very simple but should be careful when we hear and read these news. Neighbours, relatives should be informed when these women go away with some strangers. Now a days human trafficking has grown too much that broker may sell them to unknown persons. No body can trace them. Here at least they phoned and could locate them. Well done police. Never approach any broker or agents without informing all family members or relatives or neighbours in future.

Why could the police not trace the broker ? Is he in a Ghost Form ? She may have the contact number. Couldn't a lady police pose as a customer and locate him ?
